When I started sewing as a preteen, I quickly grew frustrated. Bored with commercial patterns and their lack of variety and individuality. Driven by an inner urge to create, I realized that this was my opportunity to eradicate one of the biggest irritations of my life... SHOPPING! I hate(d) it because I couldn't find anything that truly fit and felt like ME, and I also didn't love the thought of there being thousands of people who would have the same outfit as me.
So, I began designing and making my own clothes. I began changing the patterns and altering the clothes. I added little pieces of flair, cut them to pieces, and sewed them back together. I began designing for other people by the time I was 18, and shortly after I gave birth to my son in 1998 I began following bands like Widespread Panic, Phish, String Cheese Incident, to name a few. I made a bunch of clothes, shoved them all into my tiny Mustang and, with baby son in tow, took them to the shows. I did this for several years. In 2004, after the birth of my daughter, I took a respite from travelling and began working from home.
In 2007, I decided that I wanted to further my knowledge and go to school to learn more about my trade. In 2010 I graduated Valedictorian of Fashion Design and Merchandising from International Academy of Design and Technology in Nashville. Since then I have done many exciting and wonderful things including costuming, bridal, formal, and unnumbered custom designed projects for many beautiful and talented people.
I picked back up on my travels in 2011 taking my clothes around the country exploring new avenues of personal expression, becoming more involved with festivals as a progenitor not just a vendor. Finding a great love with transformational festivals and the joy of finding a full expression of the essence of your being, no matter what that manner of communication is. Dance, art, flow arts, music, vocal expression, or any other manner beyond. In the end, Through my extensive travels, journeys, and desires At the root of it all is my love for the most primal and universal language of all, music.
I retired from Festivals and travelling in 2016. Today I focus my energies into the unique, comfortable, and versitile styles that you will find in my shop, while.
I am truly blessed to live a full life with my life partner Greg, my son Alex, and my daughter Celestia who are all in full support and confidence of my endeavors every day. Nothing in this world makes me happier than knowing that I am doing what makes me, those around me, and those who wear my designs, happy. I love seeing people smile when they put on their clothes From the SOL. I am blessed and thankful that I have this opportunity to work from home where my beautiful family gives me all the support and nurturing that a woman can ask for.
And I'm thankful most of all to all of you, my customers and friends for making this possible!
Thank you and Have a beautiful day!
